Dining Options at Animal Kingdom Disney World

Animal Kingdom Dining Guide

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has 28 places to eat and drink in 2026: four table service restaurants (Tiffins, Tusker House, Yak & Yeti Restaurant and Rainforest Cafe), the Nomad Lounge, five quick service restaurants, and 18 snack stands, bars and lounges. Tiffins main courses run from $38 to $59, Tusker House character dining costs $64 per adult at lunch and dinner, and most quick service mains cost about $13 to $20. Table service reservations open 60 days ahead at 6 AM Eastern, and Restaurantosaurus closed permanently on February 2, 2026.

This guide covers every open location, current prices, what changed in 2026, and how to plan meals around heat, crowds, dietary needs and your budget.

What Changed in 2026

Animal Kingdom dining looks different from a year ago. Several older guides still list closed locations, so check dates before trusting any list.

WhenWhat changed
February 2, 2026Restaurantosaurus, DINOSAUR and the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. closed permanently (last day of service was February 1)
Early 2026Harambe Market reopened after a refurbishment with a more American menu, absorbing much of the Restaurantosaurus menu
March 2026Tiffins refreshed its menu and removed several dishes, including the Surf & Turf
May 2026Yak & Yeti Restaurant reportedly raised prices on roughly 40 items by about 3 to 5 percent
October 6, 2026Disney updated allergy-friendly guidance after the FDA stopped classifying coconut as a major tree nut allergen
October 2026Tusker House adjusted its prices (details in the Tusker House section)
October 14, 2026Nomad Lounge To Go launched in the My Disney Experience app

Dino-Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites had already closed before Restaurantosaurus. Disney says a large hacienda-style quick service restaurant is coming with the new Tropical Americas land in 2027.

Where to Eat in Each Land

Knowing the layout saves walking time, especially in the afternoon heat.

Rainforest Cafe to Yak & Yeti is roughly a 7 minute walk, according to Disney’s own planning advice. Tiffins and Nomad Lounge sit side by side near the Pandora path, which makes them easy to pair.

Table Service Restaurants

Tiffins Restaurant

Tiffins is Animal Kingdom’s signature restaurant and the park’s best special occasion meal. It has three dining rooms honoring Africa, Asia and the spirit of exploration, with artwork inspired by the field sketches of the Imagineers who built the park. The menu blends African, Asian and Latin flavors.

Disney lists Tiffins in its $$$ tier ($35 to $59.99 per adult). After the March 2026 overhaul, lunch and dinner menus are nearly identical, with one lunch-only exception.

Menu itemPrice
Tiffins Signature Bread Service$20
Korean Barbecue Pork Belly Bao Buns$16
Regional Curry Tasting (Thai green and Indian red curry)$38
Shrimp & Grits$42
Butter Chicken$43
Whole-fried Catch of the Day$52
Oaxacan Pork Duo$52
Grilled Beef Tenderloin$59
Tiffins Signature Burger Prix Fixe (lunch only, includes dessert and a non-alcoholic drink)$42
Caramel Flan$14

Prices above come from the March 2026 menu and may have moved since. Tiffins can prepare kosher meals without advance notice, and the Regional Curry Tasting includes a plant-based curry. Disney has also run 40 percent off Tiffins during appreciation periods for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members, so check for offers if you hold either.

Tusker House Restaurant

Tusker House is the only character dining experience at Animal Kingdom. Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Mickey Mouse and Goofy appear in safari outfits, and the character lineup can vary. The restaurant is larger than it looks, with five dining rooms and a buffet in the main room.

Breakfast features a classic Disney spread, including Mickey and Simba waffles. Lunch and dinner offer an African-inspired buffet with carved meats, curries and international sides, plus familiar dishes for picky eaters. Tusker House can prepare a halal meal without advance notice, subject to availability.

MealAdultChild (ages 3 to 9)
Breakfast$53$38
Lunch$64$43
Dinner$64$43

These are the prices reported after Disney’s October 2026 character dining increase, per person and plus tax and gratuity. A recent 2026 menu listing shows breakfast served from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM and dinner from 3:35 PM to 7:00 PM. Tusker House uses one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant

Yak & Yeti is the largest sit-down option in Asia, set inside a series of rooms styled like an aged Himalayan home. The menu mixes Asian-inspired dishes with American favorites, which makes it a safe choice for groups with different tastes. Honey chicken and fried wontons are long-time favorites.

Menu itemPrice
Pork Pot Stickers$13.29
Firecracker Shrimp$15.49
Korean Fried Chicken (shareable)$18.49
Ahi Tuna Nachos (for two)$23.79
Vegetable Lo Mein$22.59
Lo Mein Chicken$23.59
Plant Burger$24.59
Teriyaki Chicken Bowl$26.99
Dragon Roll Bowl$30.79
Kids’ Cheeseburger$11.99

The restaurant participates in the Disney Dining Plan as a table service meal. Yak & Yeti Quality Beverages, an outdoor bar next door, serves cocktails and snack plates without a reservation.

Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom

Rainforest Cafe sits at the park entrance with animatronic animals, fish tanks and periodic thunderstorm effects. It is operated by Landry’s rather than Disney, and Disney-focused guides report that it does not accept Disney Dining Plan credits.

Its biggest advantage is access. The restaurant can be reached from both inside and outside the park, so you can eat there without park admission, and reportedly even after the park closes. That makes it useful for an early breakfast before rope drop or a late dinner after a long day.

Nomad Lounge: New Reservations, To Go Churros and a Passholder Deal

Nomad Lounge shares a kitchen with Tiffins and offers small plates, craft cocktails and the same adventurers’ club atmosphere at lower prices. Recent guides list small plates at roughly $10 to $21 and cocktails at about $15 to $19. It has been walk-up only for years, and waits of 20 to 30 minutes for a table have been common.

That is changing this fall.

DateWhat happens
October 14, 2026Nomad Lounge To Go opens in the app with one item: churros with vanilla crema and apple butter for $11
October 20 to December 18, 2026Annual Passholder deal: 2 small plates and 2 beverages for $49 plus tax and gratuity, from 3 PM until close
October 28, 2026Advance dining reservations open for booking
November 8, 2026First reservation dates begin

Disney says walk-up seating and a waitlist will remain available after reservations launch. The Passholder offer covers the pass holder and up to three guests, is dine-in only, excludes the charcuterie and cheese board, and is not valid with dining plans. Guests must be 21 or older with ID to purchase alcohol.

Quick Service Restaurants

Animal Kingdom has five quick service restaurants. Reviewers split on the top spot, with Satu’li Canteen and Flame Tree Barbecue trading first and second place in most rankings.

Satu’li Canteen (Pandora)

Satu’li Canteen serves customizable bowls: choose a protein such as grilled beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu, then a base of ancient grains, rice or salad. Bowls start around $13.49, and the cheeseburger steamed pods are a hit with kids. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse is $5.79.

It also supports mobile order and can prepare halal and kosher meals without advance notice, subject to availability.

Flame Tree Barbecue (Discovery Island)

Flame Tree serves smoked ribs, pulled pork and chicken, with covered outdoor seating that overlooks Discovery River. Recent menu listings show baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork at $13.49, a Korean barbecue sandwich made with Impossible Beef at $13.49, and a half chicken at $14.79. All seating is outdoors, so plan around the weather.

Flame Tree takes mobile order and uses one quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes (Asia)

This counter service spot shares a building with the table service restaurant and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It does not take mobile order.

Menu itemPrice
Breakfast Bowl$11.99
Sausage and Egg English Muffin$13.99
Honey Sesame Chicken$14.99
Vegetable Tikka Masala$14.99
Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich$15.99
Rib Tips with Korean barbecue glaze$17.99
Yeti Cheeseburger$19.49

Harambe Market (Africa)

Harambe Market reopened in early 2026 with a menu built around burgers, chicken strips, a harissa chicken wrap, a savanna salad and the Kubwa Cookie. The open-air market setting is still one of the park’s most atmospheric places to eat. It takes mobile order, though one reviewer says the menu lacks depth beyond burgers.

Pizzafari (Discovery Island)

Pizzafari serves personal pizzas, pasta and a chicken parmesan sandwich. Its large, air-conditioned indoor seating area makes it the most dependable cool-down meal in the park. It takes mobile order.

Bars and Lounges

Animal Kingdom has four walk-up lounges that serve cocktails, beer and wine without a reservation.

  • Dawa Bar in Africa, near Tusker House, with African-inspired cocktails.
  • Thirsty River Bar in Asia, near Expedition Everest.
  • Warung Outpost in Asia, with specialty drinks and snacks.
  • Yak & Yeti Quality Beverages in Asia, with frozen cocktails and snack plates.

Nomad Lounge is the park’s best-known cocktail destination, covered above.

Breakfast at Animal Kingdom

Plan breakfast ahead, because only a handful of locations serve it. These are the options that serve morning meals.

  • Tusker House: character breakfast, $53 per adult and $38 per child.
  • Rainforest Cafe: breakfast starts at 8:30 AM, and no park admission is needed.
  • Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes: egg sandwiches, breakfast bowls and fruit from about $11.99.
  • Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery: pastries, cinnamon rolls and breakfast sandwiches near Harambe.
  • Creature Comforts and Isle of Java: coffee and quick bakery items on Discovery Island.
  • Tamu Tamu Refreshments: morning pastries and baked goods in Africa.

Operating hours change with park hours and early entry, so check the My Disney Experience app for your date.

Halal, Kosher, Vegetarian and Allergy-Friendly Dining

Disney publishes a clear process for special diets, and several Animal Kingdom locations can help on short notice.

Halal and kosher

Disney says halal and kosher meals are available at most table service restaurants and should be requested at least 24 hours ahead. The locations below can serve them without advance notice, subject to availability.

DietAnimal Kingdom locations with no advance notice
HalalSatu’li Canteen and Tusker House Restaurant
KosherSatu’li Canteen and Tiffins

To request a halal meal ahead of time, email [email protected], and the team will send a form. Halal meals vary by restaurant and may use a halal-certified protein, a suitable seafood option or a plant-based entree. Wait times can be longer, and even with notice, quick service restaurants may not always have a halal protein.

Allergies

Tell the server or Cast Member about your allergy as soon as you order, and Disney will use its allergy request process. Orders that follow it arrive with a visual marker such as a pick, tray or sticker, and you should confirm the order when it arrives. Table service and select quick service restaurants have menus that show common allergens and gluten.

Two updates matter this fall. Disney says carts and kiosks generally do not have allergy-friendly menus, so snack stands are harder for guests with allergies. Also, effective October 6, 2026, Disney-operated restaurants may include items with coconut and several other ingredients in tree nut allergy-friendly options after the FDA reclassified them.

Guests with four or more allergy requests, or a medically restrictive diet, should email [email protected] no sooner than 14 days before arrival. Rainforest Cafe is not Disney-operated, so confirm its allergy process directly.

Vegetarian and plant-based

  • Flame Tree Barbecue: Korean barbecue sandwich made with Impossible Beef.
  • Yak & Yeti Restaurant: Vegetable Lo Mein ($22.59) and Plant Burger ($24.59).
  • Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes: Vegetable Tikka Masala ($14.99).
  • Tiffins: Regional Curry Tasting with a plant-based curry, a plant-based Land Salad and plant-based sorbet.
  • Satu’li Canteen: tofu as a protein choice for its bowls.

How Much Does Dining Cost at Animal Kingdom?

Disney groups restaurants by average cost per adult: $ is $14.99 and under, $$ is $15 to $34.99, $$$ is $35 to $59.99, and $$$$ is $60 and over. Tiffins sits in the $$$ tier.

Here are three sample days based on current menu prices for one adult. Totals exclude drinks, tax and gratuity.

PlanMealsEstimated total
Budget dayBreakfast Bowl at Yak & Yeti Cafes ($11.99), baked mac and cheese with pulled pork at Flame Tree ($13.49), DOLE Whip cup ($5.79), Honey Sesame Chicken at Yak & Yeti Cafes ($14.99)$46.26

Foodie dayButter Chicken ($43) and Caramel Flan ($14) at Tiffins, plus Nomad Lounge To Go churros ($11)$68.00

Ways to spend less

  • Ask for water: guests can request a free cup of ice water at quick service locations, and refill stations are located around the parks.
  • Bring your own food: Disney allows outside food and non-alcoholic drinks for your own use if they are not in glass containers, do not need heating or refrigeration, and have no strong smell. Tell the security Cast Member about any food when you enter.
  • Use the Passholder deal: the $49 Nomad Lounge offer runs from October 20 to December 18, 2026.
  • Share at Nomad Lounge: the small plates are filling enough that two plates and a drink can work as a light dinner.

Reservations, Mobile Order and Walk-Ups

Advance dining reservations

Reservations open 60 days ahead at 6 AM Eastern Time, so international visitors should convert that to local time. Tiffins, Tusker House, Yak & Yeti Restaurant and Rainforest Cafe all take them, and Tusker House and Tiffins fill fastest. Nomad Lounge reservations start for visits on November 8, 2026.

Rainforest Cafe reservations can be booked online until one hour before closing, so last-minute plans are possible.

Mobile order

Satu’li Canteen, Flame Tree Barbecue, Harambe Market and Pizzafari take mobile order through the My Disney Experience app. Nomad Lounge To Go uses 15 minute arrival windows for its churros. If you have an allergy, you will still speak to a Cast Member when you pick up your order.

Walk-ups

Quick service restaurants, snack stands and the lounges need no reservation. In-park table service restaurants may add you to a walk-up list when tables open, but do not count on it for Tiffins or Tusker House.

Beating the Heat and the Afternoon Exodus

Central Florida heat is a real factor here, and Disney Tourist Blog notes an obvious afternoon exodus after which the park can feel quiet. Planning meals around both helps.

Eating Near Animal Kingdom

Beyond the park gates, Rainforest Cafe is the easiest meal without admission. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, a short resort bus ride away, adds several well-known restaurants.

Boma and Sanaa are popular, so reservations are strongly recommended. Confirm current hours and menus with Disney, since the lodge’s dining has seen updates this year.

Tropical Americas: What Dining Is Coming

Tropical Americas, built around the village of Pueblo Esperanza, is replacing DinoLand U.S.A. Disney still lists a 2027 opening and has not announced a month. The land will include an Encanto ride, an Indiana Jones attraction, a carousel and a large hacienda-style quick service restaurant that Disney describes as one of the biggest on property.

The restaurant’s name and menu have not been announced. Until then, the former DinoLand area is a construction zone with no dining.
